My schedule would be like that except I have the excuse of no sitter to say I can only work after a certain time. I lose that when my babysitter, who is a high school student, gets out for summer break. Otherwise I know a week in advance if I'm lucky what days I will be working and what I will be doing. I am having a really difficult time at work with a co-worker, who used to be above me as my manager. She refused to accept I am in the same level as her now and keeps acting like she doesn't have to do things because she can delegate to me. Which to be honest she can because it is always something that needs to be done and I'm responsible enough to make sure it gets done. Even my boss wants to get rid of her but we don't have any candidates to replace her so we just have to keep dealing with her. That is the biggest downside to living in an area where there are more jobs available then employable people.

Yeah, that was a rights grab.

I read Eddings' series with his other characters, the Elenium and Tamuli, quite a while ago, and I really like them. I read the Belgariad recently and it just really fell flat for me, I felt like the other series had a bit more of a complex plot, and a bit more grown up characters (although no more mature :P) with interactions in a very similar style to the Belgariad, so I didn't feel like I had any reason to like it. The follow up series The Mallorean was much the same, although the standalones, Belgarath the Sorcer and Polgara the Sorcoress, I quite enjoyed.

I've been living out of home for the past 2 months, and it's been great. I live much closer to work, I have a fair bit of space to myself with one housemate who owns the house, and having to be responsible for myself is a nice change.

I'm only casual at work, but I've worked practically everyday for the last 10 or 11 weeks, which is fine, nothing out of the ordinary for full time work, but when I only hear about my shifts one day or week in advance, and it could change on a whim, might be afternoon one week, mornings the next week, changing throughout the week or some weird between times that I've done, it's been kinda draining, and I'm ready to just have a few days off in a row at some point. Hopefully in 2 weeks time I'll get my wish.

Better Call Saul season 3 started up a few weeks ago. That show has been really enjoyable, and since I'm watching it week to week it's been overall a better experience for me than Breaking Bad, of which the only episode I saw before the next one aired was the next to last one, so the only one I got to wait for was the series finale, but I like the speculation and discussion that you get between episodes.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine started up again after a break, I really love that show, it's the only comedy I watch.

Doctor Who started up last week, had a really strong episode to open the season and introduce the new companion I thought. Excited to see where it goes, although we have had some shockingly awful episodes with Peter Capaldi, but there's been enough fantastic ones and he's a great Doctor, so we'll just have to wait and see.

I remember when the very strange unannounced pilot went up a few years ago. Someone noticed it on the TV guide at 3am with no announcement or anything and things were going crazy on reddit with speculation and not-quite-hype. A very disappointing whatever it was in the end, but that was a fun day. Hopefully this is a bit more open and will end up with a good show.

I hope they do a good job with this. It's a good long story that can run quite a while if done right.

Variety reports that Sony Pictures Television will produce the TV adaptation of Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time series. The news comes just about a year after Harriet McDougal, wife of the late author, announced that the TV rights for the 14-book epic fantasy series had been optioned by a major studio. Sony will produce with Red Eagle Entertainment and Radar Pictures.

The Expanse - Season two has been pretty great, but the season ended last night and I wasn't even aware that it was the finale. It didn't feel like a finale. Given what came before, I expected more. Oh well, it was a nominally disappointing end to an otherwise great season of television. I'm satisfied with my purchase.

Preacher - The series starts off odd, gets real weird, and then the ending comes along and makes just about everything that came before it absolutely pointless. I enjoyed watching the show, sure, but and ending like that makes the rest of the season feel like time wasted.

Twin Peaks - I've been wanting to give it a go for a long while and figured that I better get on it since the new season will be starting next month. I'm loving it. It is such an odd show. There are such quirky characters and this wonderful strange sense off humor. That said, it is still a series revolving around the murder of a teenager and it goes to some pretty dark places. It's been great so far.

I got a promotion... then got a promotion on my first day of that new job. Went from 10.90 an hour to $15, which is going to be quite nice. I have no experience with the job I am going to, but everyone seems to think I'll do great, so whatevs.
